After an in-depth look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro High that’s been dubbed “Cinnabar,” another colorway will join the rollout of Jordan Brand’s revitalized “Rare Air” series.
Unlike the aforementioned “Cinnabar” style, this “Rare Air Deep Royal Blue” colorway has more in common with the “Rare Air” Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 Retros that are also expected next year. It employs a similar color scheme, blending a royal blue upper with white, black and red accents. But the defining design feature on this “Rare Air Deep Royal Blue” pair is its ankle collar, which uses contrasting colors to give it a look reminiscent of Union’s mash-up collaborations.
Other details which set this Air Jordan 1 apart include a redesigned “Wings” logo stamp which reads “Nike Air” instead of the usual “Air Jordan,” “Rare Air” insole branding and a black Swoosh logo which wears away to reveal red underneath. The shoe also features a heavily yellowed muslin midsole, the same look featured on the “Cinnabar” version.

Ahead of its release, a customized version of this “Rare Air” Air Jordan 1 was featured in Who Decides War’s spring 2025 New York Fashion Week show. That pair featured distressing and added fabrics, giving the shoe a high-end look fit for fashion week.
As for the “Rare Air” Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4 Retros, those pairs will feature unique details such as reversed logos and removable Velcro patches.
Like the “Cinnabar” pair, this “Rare Air Deep Royal Blue” Air Jordan 1 Retro High is set to be released during April 2025 for a retail price of $180. Given its “Rare Air” distinction, it will likely be a limited-edition launch. The shoe’s SKU is DZ5485-100 and its full colorway is “White/Black/Neutral Grey/Deep Royal Blue/Muslin.”
